Meet Terry Eckenwiler:

I was born & raised in Southern Califonia and at seven years old  I joined to the Boy Scouts of America where my passion for the outdoors began. In 1973 I became a long distance runner, another passion that I inherited from my mother.  Backpacking and running were already achieved skills, but my real goal was always to climb large mountains, a hidden wish that came from watching National Geographic shows and other specials on TV about mountaineering expeditions in different countries.  

In 1991, a friend introduced me to rock climbing and alpinism, and this was the starting point of a long friendship as we became climbing partners for many years to come. I have climbed many Mountains in the Sierra Nevada Range in Califorina.

Then in 1994, I was invited on my first climb in the Andes of Peru. We traveled to the town of Huaraz. We hiked up to the base camp of Quebrada Ishinca where I climbed Urus at 5,495 meters, My first Mountain in the Andes. This was my frist major peak in the Andes, After that trip I was hooked. I was amazed at the mountains, people and the culture of this country. This was the beginning of my ultimate passion. I have been climbing, trekking and meeting many new friends in the last 13 years.

In 1995, I reached the summit of Pisco, another Peruvian Mountain with an elevation of 5,752 meters. That same year I met Ana, soon to become the love of my life and my wife after we were married in the very small town of Huacho in 1997.

I not only have traveled through out Peru over the years, but I also traveled and climb in Argentina. These trips have been the most memorable times of my life, and now I would like to bring some of these great memories to you. I will show you the astonishing views while trekking along the Inca trail, or we can enjoy the adventure of trekking to the great mountain of Ausangate in the town of Tinque. If you come on one of my trips, you will leave the stress of everyday life behind, And in return you will get a whole new out look on life. From the adventure of hiking spectacular routes to the amazing view of Macchu Picchu at first light in the morning after a four day trek.

Each and every day will be a wonderful personal journey for you. This I can promise.
